My New Hairdo

Hello there my lovelies,

Yesterday I went to my second Halloween party this weekend. OMG. They were both so fun. I loved the costumes. People were real creative. The house decorations were really good and there was lots of candy. Let's just say that I helped myself.

My coworkers worked so hard to try and get me drunk. She kept making drinks and shoving them in my hands, despite my best efforts of telling her that I don't really like to drink. Everytime I put the drink down, she yelled at me and shoved it back in me hand. I guess us people at Enterprise are lushes.

Last night at the party I was minding my own business fooling around with my digital camera. And some guy from work comes over to me and challenges me to a pushup contest. Whatever I do, he will do double. He told me that because I am a girl I should "attempt" to do 5. I just looked at him, batted my eyes and said "I dunno, that's kinda a lot." Then he lowered the bar to four.

So I put my drink down, took off my nice black gloves, and got down and did some pushups and counted each one out loud. I cranked out 25. I shoulda done more, but oh well. He looked at me and ran out the door. The other guys laughed at him for being such a puss. Then one of my bosses who is 40 lbs overweight got down and cranked out 38 and laughed at him and told him "You're just mad cuz the fat guy beat you."

I swear the last Halloween parties I went to weren't nearly as cool as this year. This year everyone put lots of effort into their costumes.

Actual Halloween is tommorow, but I can't wear the above costume to work so I will wear my traditional Austrian dress and look like a country girl serving beer with my hair parted.

Did I mention that my boss is gonna give me my second review tommorow? It's gonna be so wierd getting it while I am in costume. I hope he gives it to me over lunch. That's what happened last time. Both the review and the food were good.

Anyways, y'all enjoy the rest of the weekend and Halloween tommorow :)

Something I stole from a Puerto Rican Friend

Three handsome male  dogs are walking down the street when they see a
beautiful, enticing, female Poodle. The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end uparriving in front of her at the same time. The males are speechless before her beauty, slobbering on themselves and hoping for just a glance from her ... Aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three suitors, shedecides to be kind and tells them, "The first one who can use the words 'liver' and 'cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me." The sturdy, muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and says, "I loveliver and cheese." "Oh, how childish," said the Poodle. "That shows no imagination orintelligence whatsoever." She turned to the  tall, shiny Golden Retriever and said, "How well can you do?" "Um . . . I HATE liver and cheese," blurts the Golden Retriever. "My, my," said the Poodle, "I guess it's hopeless. That's just as dumb as the Lab's sentence." She then turns to the last of the three dogs andsays, "How about you?" The last of the three is a handsome Puerto Rican dog, recently arrived from the island. He gives her a big smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and the Lab and says in broken English, "Liver alone. Cheese mine."

More Little Updates.....

Hello All,

Well,  I am at the car mechanic's getting my oil changed, tires rotated, and all that good jazz. Lucky for me, I have wireless and can amuse myself until they are finished.

I worked today and did pretty well if I may say so without tooting my own horn. I ran the office, rented out all the cars and I think that the customers are happy. I did have some problems this morning, but luckily they all got worked out. I will have my 2nd review tommorow so I will get to see how my bosses think I am doing.

I went to my boss's Halloween party last night at his house and it was fun. He did a wicked job in decorating the place. So many people showed up, and in costume. He had to turn people away. Some of the costumes I saw: cows, cowboys, flappers, ghostbusters, pimps, angels, rednecks, gynecologist, a penis, ghost, goblins, devils, samauri, cat, bunnies, doctors, as well as a variety of characters from TV I didn't recognize. It was pretty fun. I had to work today so I went home kinda early.

Tommorow I plan to sleep in and work on my dance moves. I am happy that I am gonna get a new costume soon. Just gotta wait until I get paid on Friday.

Y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend :) Ciao.

New Hairdo

Hello All,

Well, this entry is gonna be short cuz I have a party to get ready for. Anyways, I finally got my hair cut after putting it off for a month. And I gotta give props to my stylist cuz she really did a good job. She gave me some serious bedroom hair ;). And she is cheaper than the last stylist, not to mention closer. It looks so good, that I even made myself jealous, lol.

Anyways, I'll write more later. Ciao :)

A long hard, look at myself. Long Entry.

Hello All,

Well, as you can see this is my third entry for today. I just feel like writing, I guess.

I had my sales training today at work. It was really useful and I am glad that I went. Plus, they took us all out to Cheesecake factory. Gotta love that. I had the grilled halibut with brocoli. They gave me so much brocoli that I thought I was eating a forest. But at least I can say that I got my recommended serving of vegetables. I also had the Mudd Pie for desert. It was so good.

I chose working for Enterprise because I need sales experience, and they have a very good training program. They work with us a lot and I need to prove to myself so that I can sell well.

In our sales training they taught us how to sell ourselves for promotion as well as improving our sales stats with customers. My sales stats aren't that bad, but I know that I can do a lot better. I have some stiff competition that is kicking my ass. And I wanna beat them. Really bad.

There are two reasons why I'm not beating them. The first reason is myself. I have low self confidence on the job, although I am improving every day and getting stronger. I am also afraid to succeed and afraid that people won't listen to me and reject me. Because I have faced rejection before and I got scared. I am used to people not taking me seriously and I have to start making people listen to me.

Everyone gets laughed at and rejected at some point in their lives. People lose at some point. So I just have to accept that sometimes I am gonna hit rough spots. And as long as I keep pushing and trying, I will succeed. I remember when I was a telemarketer in Spain how many calls I would make. I got rejected and laughed at so many times. But eventually I did get a lead or two. Luckily selling at Enterprise isn't as impossible as finding serious investors willing to divulge personal information over the phone.

The second reason why I haven't been doing well is that my branch manager hasn't been training me as well as he should. He is dedicated to doing his job well and making sure that we make our quotas in the office. But he wasn't dedicated to developing me as an employee and listening to my input. in fact, he was doing everything for me. He might as well have been wiping my ass and spoon feeding me. And as a result I was starting to feel miserable and useless.

So I finally stood up to him and expressed that I should be writing more rental contracts and dealing with the customers. Of course then he told me that everything has to be perfect because we're in a small branch. I felt so insulted that he didn't trust my judgement.

So I decided that I was gonna stand up for myself and not back down and I went to the top manager and told him in an email that I was unhappy and didn't like being babysat. I am a very hard worker, willing to go the extra mile, and that if Enterprise can't develop me as an employee then surely some other company will.  I also told my district manager and his boss.

And they completely agreed with me and told me that they hired me because of my attitude and work ethic. They also went to my branch manager and told  him that his promotion depends on how well I do. They care about how good I make him look and how well I do. And if I am not the one bringing in satisfied customers and high sales, then he won't get promoted. And I am willing to work hard and make him look good. So I was left to my own devices yesterday and guess what ? Yeah, I made mistakes but I also got all of our cars rented out took our cars to get repaired.

I am glad that I realized that I was unhappy and stood up for myself and did something about it. Otherwise, I wouldn't be making any progress in my career.

Now I will get better training and take on the challenge of bringing more profits into the branch. Being fearless, hearing lots of "no's", building a rapport with all my customers, and not prejudging my customers will help me get there.

Okay, that's enough for now. I'll continue later. Ciao.

No love and other useless opinions

Hello All,

I gotta say that I haven't been feeling the love in J land lately. This has been like the second or third time that I have gotten absolutely zero comments. O well. I guess we all have stuff to do.

I watched some new music videos and have decided to give my two cents worth. I saw "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas. I saw them in concert and they were wonderful. I absolutely love Fergie. I love her look and style. She looks good in that video.

Speaking of Fergie, I heard about her on the news. She is dating Josh Duhamel, a really hot actor. Anyways, apparently Lara Flynn Boyle (I think that's who it is) was reading a script with him in his trailer. While she was reading the script she was sitting on his lap. In walks Fergie. She threw a fit. She yelled at Lara to get off him. Then she walks over and throws her off him and jumps on her on the ground. It took two security guards to separate them.

I love Fergie and her fierceness and actually applauded her. Yeah, what she did was catty and she could have gone about it in some other fashion. But because it was Lara Flynn Boyle I was happy. I don't like Lara and I love Fergie. Lara is a twig and I am sure Fergie almost snapped her in two.

I also saw the new Maria Carey video. I love Mariah's voice. She is very talented. With that said I still can't understand why she feels the need to dress up like a slut and sing in whispers. Doesn't she realize that she sells more records when she uses her vocal powers to the fullest?

You see, Paris Hilton reserves the right to be a hoebag. She has fame and no talent. She is in the news because she's a Hilton, she's blond and attractive, (she's not really my type, but I digress) but most importantly, controversial. Mariah Carey has real talent and many people respected her back in the day before she turned into a skank. Moving along.

Last but not least, I saw the latest Ricky Martin music videos. I love Ricky Martin. I LOVE him. Who ever said he's gay or bi ? I can't see that. I love his beats, and that man can dance. I heard that he gets on and dances on the tables at his own restaurant in Miami. I wanna see him shake his stuff.

Anyways, that's enough for now. Ciao.

I chose an expensive hobby

Hello there my lovelies,

Well, last night was interesting. The minute I layed down, I was too tired to get up to even brush my teeth before bed. I was out like a lightbulb. Getting out of bed this morning was so hard. I think that I am starting to get sick.

For lunch today I had grilled fish at a Mexican Restaurant. That fish had so much garlic that my breath still reeks of garlic. I am lucky that I am not trying to impress anyone around here.

Today I had my bellydance class. One of the girls offered to make me a new costume. I just need to go out and buy a bra so she can sew over it. She makes beautiful costumes. She's only charging me $120. And that is considered very cheap. I have two other outfits. I paid about $400 for my professional dance costume a couple of years ago and that was considered a good deal.

On Friday my coworker is having a Halloween Party at his house. Costumes are mandatory. If I don't wear one they will paint my face however they want. And knowing these guys, I know that they won't be kind.

Well, that is all for now. I will update some more later. Ciao :)

Monday, October 24, 2005

Hello All,

Well, I just got wireless, highspeed internet access from Verizon. I'll be paying about $60 a month for it, but it's worth it to me, especially after all that drama with T-mobile. I am lying in bed and typing this. It's so wonderful. No more going to the common apartment office to get internet, and no more hurrying and trying to get there before 6pm. Now I can go online whenever I please.

I went to San Francisco on Saturday to do the 5 mile walk for Breast Cancer Awareness. I needed that exercise. My calves were sore the next day. A lot of people were there. It was moving to see people walking for loved ones that were affected. More moving was to see the breast cancer survivors at the walk. The whole thing was very well organized and put together. I am glad I went.

It was so wonderful not working on Saturday. But unfortunately, I will be working the next three Saturdays in a row.

Halloween is coming up and I am pretty happy that I am going to a few Halloween parties and that I get to dress up. I just need to find a cool costume. I can't remember the last time that I dressed up.

Anyways, I have more to write but I feel lazy, tired and hungry. I will write more later. Ciao.

Friday, October 21, 2005

Hello All,

This entry is gonna be short. I am just happy that I don't have to work this Saturday.

My day went smoother today at work than it did yesterday. Luckily we are busy and had a lot of business this week.

I have been enjoying the nice, sunny weather lately here in Milpitas and San Jose. I know that the ugly, rainy weather will be here soon enough so I am enjoying all the sunshine for as long as I can.

I am also happy that I am gonna go and get my haircut soon.

I also sent T-mobile thier godawful wireless internet devices back, so I should be getting a refund in a couple of weeks. Getting that accomplished today made me feel better.

My thoughts are scattered today, and I have more to write, but I gotta go.

Till next time :)

Random Ramblings

Hello there my lovelies :)

Well, I have finally gotten paid and I have gotten to paying most of my bills. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Now I just need to clean my damn room, and I'll be all set.

Today I picked up a customer from a firehouse. I volunteered to go into work early to do the pickup. I NEVER go in early with a good additude. But I guess today was my lucky day. These guys were so nice and they invited me to come back anytime to the firehouse. You know I can't turn down an offer like that. Elisa, this is why you should live in CA. Then I would be inviting you to come with me.

Today at work was busy. We had lots of reservations, and no cars. One guy called in and was really mad and wanted the number for my district manager. I managed to calm the guy down and get him completely satisfied. I basically let him vent without interrupting, appologized profusely, told him that he is more than welcome to call my district manager but that I would do what my district manager would do anyways: And that was find him a truck and pay for all his gas. And he said that he wouldn't call his district manager after all. I felt bad for the guy, and I did everything willingly and with a smile. And he appreciated it. And that made me feel good about doing my job. It's people that demand stuff from me and complain all the time despite me doing my best that make me hate my job. I am sure all of you can relate.

My boss and I don't see eye to eye. He is very dedicated to his job and willing to do whatever is necessary to make the customer happy. And if he is willing to go the extra mile, that makes my job easier. But even though he is more experienced than I, he won't really listen to me nor does he really give me an opportunity to get out there and make mistakes. Bottom line is that he wants everything to be perfect and he is afraid of me making mistakes. I talked to the district manager about this and luckily he agrees with me in that I should be given more responsibilities in the office. He saw me acting frustrated and asked me about it and we had a long talk.

No matter how well my boss does at the office, he won't get promoted unless I am doing well and am happy with him. He could make the office a lot of money and get all the customers happy. But if I am not performing well, or he makes me upset and causes me to leave, he won't get promoted. Not only does he have torun the business well, but he also has to manage his employees well. Right now he only has to worry about me. And I am the least of his worries. I do my job well and am always willing to stay late or come early. I always ask him questions and am ready to learn. And yet I still see him snap at me, get frustrated when I make mistakes, or ignore my suggestions. He is trying to improve, but I have to say that I am not totally happy. It would make my job a little easier if he would chit chat with me a little or talk about something, especially since I am stuck in the office with him all day. I see him chatting with the other employees.

I guess he's screwed with or without me.

That's all I have to say for today. I wish you all a wonderful weekend :)

T-mobile and dating SUCK.

Hello All,

Yesterday I used a room at my old university to practice my dance moves. I practiced with one of the girls in my class and we did a lot. I am starting to learn how to dance with a sword. It's a lot of fun.

On Saturday my old college friend threw a party at her house to raise money for breast cancer awareness. I bellydanced for everyone, and that was a lot of fun. On Saturday I will do a 5 mile walk in San Francisco. Lord knows I need the exercise.

I gave my wireless internet from T-Mobile a try again, and it wouldn't work. I drove all the way out to a Starbucks, where the connection is supposed to be better. Not even. I hate T-Mobile. I am canceling my service tommorow. Luckily they are gonna give me a refund. They better. They pride themselves on their award winning service. Well, I wasn't one of those satisfied people.

Today I bought a book called "Dating Sucks". Because, well, it really does suck. It's a pretty funny book. The author talks about her dating experiences, and I can relate to a lot of what she writes. It makes me laugh and I know I am not alone in the jungle.

Well, thats about all for now. I will write more later. I wish you all a wonderful rest of the week :)

I am back and T-Mobile Sucks.....

Hello All,

I love updating my journal and I have been away for a while because I was trying to go wireless and I am still unsuccessful. I am at the community space here at my apt which closes soon, by the way.

I signed up with T-Mobile wireless. First of all, the hold time on the phone when I call in to get technical support is at least 35 minutes. Second of all, the wireless service doesn't even work in my own apartment. It took me calling and waiting for a half an hour at least five times before someone told me that I have to go outside to get internet access. How lame is that ? It's gonna rain soon here in California.

Other than that, I am doing fine and dandy. I will definitely update more later. Ciao.

Not working today

Hello All,

Today I called in sick. I have a half day paid as a reward for selling a car, so I am only losing out on a few hours of work today. I work 6 days a week, so I need this extra day. Although I am not coughing up snot and puking, I am starting to feel the symptoms of a cold. So I decided to take it easy today. I will be back tommorow. But I have to say that it felt real nice sleeping in all morning.

I forgot to mention that I sold another car. I was helping a couple and told them that we sell cars in addition to renting them and that we just opened a new branch. So they went in the next day and bought a car. The were the first people to buy a car in that new car sales branch. I bought my car a few months ago from Enterprise so it's not to hard to talk about for me.

Tonight I have dance class again. I also have a Spanish lesson this Sunday. I want to be able to keep up dance and my Spanish. I think it's real important.

I have to say that I like my new boss. He really does everything he can to help and make sure I know everything. But he can get annoying sometimes. Especially when I am on the phone and he sits right next to me, breathes on me and makes sure I am doing everything perfectly. THAT can get to me sometimes.

I am sorry I really don't have much to talk about today. I will think of something for next time. Ciao :)

Desperate for more Desperate Housewives

Hello there my lovelies :)

Well, I just couldn't resist. Yesterday I finished watching all of the first season for Desperate Housewives on DVD. Now I am really curious to see what will happen this season. I love Gabrielle and Edie the most. The men on that show are also really hot. Especially Jesse Metcalfe from the soap opera Passions. I was sad when he left that show, but now I am happy to see him again on TV. Now I get to see more of him, but this time with his shirt off :). Anyways, enough about that.

I worked yesterday, everything went fine. I have liked my previous bosses, but I am happy to say that I am glad that my current boss is quitting. This guy tells me not to worry about certain customers when I ask. But then I am the one that has to deal with these same customers and fix things when they come in and he's not there.

I have also been cleaning up my room a little today. There is so much clutter and paperwork to organize. I guess I will be cleaning longer than I thought.

That's all for now. I'll talk to you all more later. Ciao.

My lovely week

Hello everyone,

I haven't been online all week. I have been starting my dance classes again. Dancing with veils makes me so happy, and so does watching other dancers.

Plus I went out three times this week. First to a happy hour at my job. Then I went to a bar with a coworker/friend in Los Gatos. I love downtown Los Gatos. I also had dinner at Santana Row with my newest friends. It was nice, but I am kinda tired and my room is such a mess. All I wanna do is lock myself in my room with junk food and watch Desperate Housewives. Since I have pretty much watched almost all of the episodes of Sex in the City, Desperate Housewives has become my latest addiction.

October has arrived and now my health benefits from work finally kick in. I am definitely gonna make an appointment for contacts. I have very dry, sensitive eyes so I haven't been able to wear contacts because they scratch my eyeballs. So, I have been waiting for newer, more advanced contacts to come out. So I really hope that I will be able to get them.

There's really not much else to say except that I am chewing a mouthful of bubblegum and blowing ridiculously large bubbles.

Anyways, I wish you all a wonderful week ahead. Ciao.
