As you featherballs know, I went to New York City a little over a month ago, and I had the time of my life. I fell in love with the city and was just happy to be there. I even wore my Yankees shirt. I am not a baseball fanatic, but since I love NYC, I will root for the Yankees. While I was there, we did drive by the Yankee Stadium. I briefly saw the new one and the old one. It's a shame they have to tear the old one down.
Jay Z and Alicia Keys recently released a song about NYC called Empire State of Mind, and I fell in love with that too, especially since it's the way I feel about NYC. If I got a job out there, I would totally pack my bags and move.

So I included the live performance at the Yankee Stadium on Oct. 29th. I wish I could've been there to see it in person. I love the large screen in the background showing views of the city.
As you know, the Yankees won the World Series ! Go Yankees !
And if you are a Yankee hater, please don't post your hate up here, because it's not that I care about baseball, I care about New York and the Yankees is part of that NY feel for me.

I've been a Yankee fan since I was five years old. Got the had; got the shirt. I can tell you stories, which are in my book, by the way...
I just watched Jeter, Pettit, Posada and Hideki on the David Letterman Show. Fun.
Being a New Yorker by birth and growing up there I have a GREAT Fondness for the city....And I'm so glad the Yankees won. I'm not a BIG Baseball fan either, but..they are my Hometown team....!
I didn't understand a word of that song...BUT, I thought about Billy Joels song 'New York State of Mind' and the real oldie by Rodgers and Hart.."I'll Take Manhattan"...a Great Great song and a love letter to New York City!

My husband's from Boston and I'm from NY, so you can imagine the fights we have when it comes to sports. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but my father and I used to watch the Yankees for years. I can't think of NY without thinking of The Yankees...so I know what you mean.
My husband likes the peace and quiet of the country and I dream of having an apt. in Manhattan. If I had to live in the boonies with my family, I'd turn into Jack Nicholson's character in The Shining.

My ex was also from Boston and explained the whole history behind the Red Sox and Yankees. So when it was baseball season I just pretended to like the Red Sox.
Bostonians treat the Red Sox as their religion.

I remember watching Fever Pitch, thinking OMG, THAT'S my husband! It was supposed to be a comedy, but not for me.
This is very ironic I am going to be in NY on Monday. I liked the Yankees when I was a kid then I became more of a fan of personal productivity than baseball as a point of view.. not a truth.

That's too funny you mention the film. My ex sat me down and made me watch that film with him and explained the entire history between the Red Sox and the Yankees, as well as Fenway Park and the whole nine yards.
His gifts to me were Red Sox shirts. I don't know where those went.............
