Happy New Year !!

Happy New Year My Lovelies...........

I had a really good time last night. I invited my friend to stay over with me and bring in the new year. My roommate is out of town, so she and I had the place to ourselves.

We started off the evening by going ice skating. I hadn't been skating in two years, so it was nice to get back on the rink. It was fun, and it looked like the fog was settling in, so it felt cozy out on the rink. It was crowded, and I talked to a couple of people. They were envying my ice skates. They are Riedell competition grade, and are still in great condition. I bought them when I was learning how to skate in college back in 2002. I am no expert, I just didn't want to use rentals. Besides my bellydance costumes, those skates are one of my most prized possessions. I wouldn't sell those. Just having those around makes me feel like I have a lot of money. I can't explain it.

I was lucky that I didn't fall out on the rink, since it usually happens to me each time I skate. I was in a skirt and tights, so I guess I was trying to be extra careful.

After the rink, I drove Ashleigh out for fast food, and then went back to my place. We could've gone out to the bars, but we are both broke so we just decided to stay in. Besides, most of the men at the bar a block away from my place just looked old. We were better off staying in.

We spent the rest of the evening watching chick flicks. We saw "Enchanted" and "Clueless". I don't normally watch chick flicks unless it's Sex and the City. But it was fun with my friend there.

I remember when Clueless came out in 1995. I was a freshman in high school. It was such a popular movie, but I was such a loner at the time, and very sheltered at home. I didn't get out much and I did not fit in. I didn't understand most of the slang that was used when I saw it. Now that I saw this film about 14 years later (I moved out and lived on campus and traveled abroad), I understood it all.

We did get to count down the seconds to the New Year with champagne and scream like banchees from my balcony to the neighbors. Ashleigh screamed like a Mexican dude hollering at a fine lady, and I screamed out "Happy New Year My Bitches !!"
The guys across my apartment opened their balcony door to see what the commotion was about and told us to enjoy the rest of our alcohol, which we did :)

It was nice to not be working on New Years Eve. Last year I was working and brought in the New Year silently and alone. I was sitting at a desk and there was no one next to me to toast or wish a happy New Year.

The Year before that, I was one the worst date of my entire life for the New Year, so I am glad that I had a good time last night.

Happy New Years :)

Happy New Year Senorita.

I blog about it all (dating and the such) so I can move past it. If I kept it in it would haunt me.

Sometimes you just want to be with your best girl...they know you, what you're about, and don't judge! Good times! I love chick movies...
